Mrs. MacKay message March 6th

Happy sunny Sunday Rosemont families,

I hope you are all finding ways to enjoy the spring-like weather.

1. Don’t’ forget, hot lunch ordering for after Spring Break closes tonight in Munchalunch.  Smash Burger and Big Dee’s hot dogs have been added.  Please don’t feel like you have to order lunch for every day of the week.

Volunteers are needed to help with hot lunch – please sign up via:  https://volunteersignup.org/4KPFK

2. This is the last week of school before Spring Break!  No school March 14 - March 25.  Please make sure your child has visited the lost and found table this week to take anything home that is needed over the break.  Parents, you are welcome to come into the school to peruse the table, if you wish.

3. Library day is Monday.  Please have your child hunt for any library books to be returned to the school.

4. Whole school Arctic Games afternoon is Thursday, March 10th! Mr. Geddis’ class will be running stations for the whole school to rotate through.  The Grade 4/5 students will be teaching the students Indigenous outdoor games that they have been learning about in class. Please make sure your children are dressed for outdoor learning (boots, snow pants, jacket, etc).  We will cap off the afternoon with a hot chocolate treat for the students.

I am looking for a few parent volunteers to help with the afternoon and to make the hot chocolate for the students.  Please let me know if you are able to help from 1-2:35pm on Thursday.

5. Rosemont Swag orders & payments are due on Friday, March 11th.  Payments can be made via credit card on our school website/ or cash/cheque, debit payments in the office with Laureen.

6.  Swimming lessons will be happening right after spring break for the first two classes.  Mrs. Maslechko’s K/1s and Mr. Geddis’ classes will be in lessons for five Tuesday afternoons – April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3.

Ms. Simard/Eaton, Ms. Ryan and Ms. Sims classes will be in lessons the following five Tuesday afternoons – May 10, May 17, May 24, May 31 and June 7.

Great news – the PAC voted at the last PAC meeting to pay the ENTIRE cost of the swimming lessons for every student – WOW!!  What a fantastic gift – HUGE thanks to PAC for this payment!  There will be no cost to families for these valuable lessons.

Have a great week everyone.  As always, please connect with me if you need to.

Take care,

Lindsay
