Sun. Jan 23rd Greetings

Hello Rosemont families,

I hope you all are having a peaceful weekend.

Winter Activity season is upon us!  Rosemont will be celebrating all things winter on Thursday Feb. 3rd and Thursday Feb. 10th:

  • Ks & 1s will take part in Outdoor winter adventure learning with Outdoor Educator/SD8 teacher Monica Nissen.  The students will participate in station-style learning up in the forest for 2hrs on each of these days.
  • 2s & 3s are heading to the Nelson Nordic Club (Apex) for Cross Country Skiing fun
  • 4s & 5s are heading to Whitewater for a full day on the mountain

Parents are welcome to volunteer, if able to make own transportation arrangements to/from Apex or Whitewater (no parent bus riding at this time). Please connect with me if you are interested in helping out.

  • BCCDC has updated their covid-19 protocols as of January 19.  See http://www.bccdc.ca/health-info/diseases-conditions/covid-19/if-you-have-covid-19(link is external).  Please have a look for any questions and feel free to follow up with me for any specific interpretations you may need help with after reading.
  • The enrollment and staffing work for the following school year starts in January and we try to get as close as possible as early as we can.
  • For current grade 5 families who are considering the option to remain at Rosemont next year for grade 6, please contact me as soon as possible to talk about this option for your child.
  • We are now taking registrations for Kindergarten for 2022-23.  Please let any families you know in our catchment with Kindergarten-aged students for next year to contact us to get them enrolled at this time.

And of course, same reminders as always:

  • Please remember to do the daily health check each and every day prior to sending your child to school.  If students present (or disclose) any illness symptoms while at school, we will phone home to have your child picked up immediately.  Thank you for being so diligent with this protocol.
  • K-5 Daily Health Check - https://www.k12dailycheck.gov.bc.ca/healthcheck?execution=e1s2.
  • Please ensure you are sending at least 2 clean masks to school each day for your child.

As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.

Take care,

Lindsay
