Weekly message October 6th
Good morning Rosemont families,
October is here, and the seasons are changing. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for school. Outdoor learning happens every day and your child should be prepared for all weather conditions. Unless it’s torrential downpouring, students will be outside in the rain for recess and lunch playtime. Also, if your child does not have a pair of indoor shoes, please send some tomorrow (I’m speaking mostly to Grade 4-5 student families!!)
Hot lunch ordering closes tonight. Please ensure you have placed your order and payment is completed, otherwise your order will be cancelled. Please reach out to me directly if you need financial support for hot lunch ordering this school year (financial assistance is not assumed year to year).
Rosemont Parent Advisory Council (PAC) has a meeting & AGM is on Wednesday, October 9th, from 5:45-6:45 PM in the school library. The agenda and previous meeting minutes are attached. All parents are welcome, and childcare and pizza will be provided.
Picture Day is on Friday, October 11th. Retake Day is on Monday, October 28th.
Early Dismissal Days are October 16th and October 17th. We will work through recess and lunch and dismiss at 12:30pm. If you haven’t signed up for a time slot, please do so ASAP.
Please see the attached letter regarding Halloween costume expectations for Rosemont School. Students are welcome to wear a costume to school on Halloween if it meets the criteria stated in the letter. On Halloween, we will have a full school costume parade, followed by a short Halloween dance in the gym.
Upcoming dates of importance:
- October 9th – PAC meeting 5:45pm
- October 11th – Picture Day
- October 14th – Thanksgiving Monday, no school.
- October 16th & October 17th – Early Dismissal days. Dismissal at 12:30pm
- October 16th-18th – Lindsay MacKay is away. Alix Ius will be the Teacher-in-Charge on those days.
- October 18th – District XC meet at Lakeside.
- October 25th – Provincial Pro-D day. No school for students
- October 31st – Halloween
