Hello Rosemont families,

Happy Sunday to you all.  We had a very busy week with our mural grand opening ceremony, our beautiful tipi went up and Planning Day occurred for staff on Friday. 

During Planning Day, Rosemont staff looked at school-level data in literacy, numeracy and social emotional learning. We focused our attention on goal setting to meet the needs of all our learners at Rosemont School.  In addition to diving deep into all curricular areas, this school year our literacy focus will be on improving writing skills for all students and becoming more proficient in numeracy problem solving skills.  Our third focus will draw our attention to teaching students mindfulness strategies to be better attuned to their own self-regulation practices to be the best students they can be. 

Reminders:

If you haven’t done so yet, please return the white student verification forms ASAP.  We need to ensure our information if up-to-date. 

NO PEANUTS at Rosemont School.  All other nuts are approved.

Tuesday, September 23^rd – Fire Drill #1. 

Thursday, September 25^th – 5:30-6:30pm  Open House at Rosemont.  Please come to the gym at 5:30 for a brief presentation from Mrs. MacKay, and then your children will show you to their classroom, library space and music room for an informal meeting. 

Monday, September 29^th – Day for Honouring Truth and Reconciliation Assembly and Heartbeat Walk – 10:30am.  Please send your child to school in an orange shirt if possible.  All families welcome to join our assembly and Heartbeat Walk.

Tuesday, September 30^th – Day for Honouring Truth and Reconciliation STATUTORY holiday. No school.

Into October:

Monday, October 6^th – Fire Safety Assembly from Nelson Fire Dept. 

Wed. October 8th PICTURE DAY

Monday, October 13^th – Thanksgiving – No school

Wednesday October 15^th and Thursday October 16^th – EARLY DISMISSAL days – a chance for staff to visit with students and parents.  School will be dismissed one hour early at 1:30pm on Oct 15^th and Oct 16th.  More information regarding early dismissal days coming at the beginning of October.

Friday, October 24^th – Provincial Pro-D day – no school for students.
