Weekly message September 29th

Image

Good morning Rosemont families,

On Friday, Rosemont School gathered for Orange Shirt Day and The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30th).  It was a day to come together to honour the healing journeys of residential school survivors and their families and a time to engage in meaningful discussions about the history of the residential school system.  On Friday morning, we gathered in a circle outside for some sharing and learning, then participated in a Rosemont Children’s Heartbeat Walk through the streets of Rosemont, proudly wearing our orange and carrying our Every Child Matters flags. I have attached a few pictures.  Thank you to the families that were able to join us.  I hope all Rosemont families can find a meaningful way to honour Orange Shirt Day and The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Here is a link to many of the resources Rosemont School uses to deepen our learning about Truth and Reconciliation and I encourage families to continue the learning at home.
