Weekly message September 7, 2025

Happy Sunday Rosemont families,

It was so great to see all your children back to school (or starting school) this week. The first few weeks are always an adjustment so don’t be surprised if your child comes home exhausted, emotional and a little unsettled.  It’s normal!

If you need to contact your child’s teacher, please call the school (250.352-3182) to schedule an appt, email or connect via class dojo.

2. Important Reminder – NO PEANUTS or peanut products are allowed at Rosemont.  All other nuts are fine, but do not send PEANUTS to school.

3. We have sent home verification forms for student information.  Please verify ALL information (emergency contacts, addresses, phone numbers, email, etc) is correct so we can ensure our school information is accurate.  Please return verification form as soon as possible with corrections or even if all information is accurate.

4. Friday, September 12th is our school-wide field trip to Kokanee Park.  Please ensure you have returned the salmon-coloured field trip form by Tuesday, September 9th. If you wish to accompany your child’s class on this fun day, please connect directly with your child’s teacher.

5. Wednesday, September 17th @ 2pm – Rosemont MURAL grand opening celebration.  Students and staff will gather with our mural artists, donors and district staff to officially ‘open’ our beautiful new mural with a ribbon cutting and cake celebration.  All families are welcome to attend.

6. PAC meeting: Wednesday, September 17 5:30pm in Rosemont library

Message from PAC:

The first meeting of the year for the Rosemont PAC is happening on September 17th! This is a great way to get involved with the school - getting the inside scoop on what's happening, supporting the school with fundraising and allocation of grants, and building a network with other Rosemont families - with pizza and childcare provided. The September 17th meeting is also where we will appoint Chair and other roles for the upcoming year, which is a great way to build skills while being of service. Have questions about PAC? Reach out, or come to the meeting to learn more.

7. Thursday, September 18th at 9:15am is our Rosemont Terry Fox Run (we run on the school field).  Please consider donating a ‘toonie for Terry’ in our upcoming Terry Fox Cancer foundation donation drive.  Students can bring a toonie (or more) to their classroom teacher for donation collection.

8. Friday, September 19th is a NO SCHOOL day for students.  It is our annual District Planning Day, where Rosemont staff meet to discuss school level data to determine our literacy, numeracy and social/emotional goals for the upcoming school year.

9. Rosemont School OPEN HOUSE is on Thursday, September 25th 5:30-6:30pm. Upon arrival at 5:30, parents are invited to send their child to their classroom, and parents will join me in the gym for a 10min information session at 5:30pm.  Then, your child will be ready to show you their classroom learning space.

10. If you haven’t done so already, please pay $45/child for school supplies.  Cash/cheque/debit/cc (online or in person) gratefully accepted.  https://rosemont.sd8.bc.ca/pay
