Bike Rodeo and Parade!

Rosemont Elementary hosted its annual Bike Rodeo and Parade on June 20. Staff and students showed up on foot and on bikes to learn about bike safety, maintenance and riding skills. Community members came out to provide bike and road safety as well as bike maintenance tips. Students spent the morning enjoying jumps, obstacle courses and decorating stations.

"I like how important road and bike safety are every year, because we are a bike and walk to school community. This day helps keep our kids safe," said Principal Lindsay Mackay.

It's great that we have male and female police officers as positive role models," said Sheila Ryan.

"This is the culture of our school whether [students] have a bike or not. It’s a way to ensure every student’s bike is safe before we head into summer," said Alix Lus.

Rosemont Elementary thanks the Nelson Police for great safety tips, our local bike shop The Sacred Ride for supporting this event since we started it in June 2021, staff including teacher Eli Geddis for teaching bike skills, students for participating and our entire school community for a wonderful event.
